I recently saw an MSP's fully managed contract client who got charged $3.5k to recover data from a hard drive and when they questioned the bill, the MSP blamed the client for not having a backup. In this 5-year relationship, this MSP never quoted, consulted or even suggested that they should be backing up this machine, and has never done a QBR with this client.
As a vCIO, my job is to make sure such "MSPs" are held accountable or replaced with ones we (Both vCIO Ltd. and The Client) so that you have essential things like security and continuity. Good Grief!
What the HELL were they "MANAGING"?
